The Bremen Institute for Production and Logistics (BIBA), in collaboration with IVA Johann Construction GmbH, has just completed a research project which has led to the development of a groundbreaking omnidirectional track system for construction vehicles. The prototype is shown in action in this video. Omnidirectional drives are common in robotics, but this is the first time the concept has been scaled for potential use in industrial settings.
