Hyundai Construction Equipment has announced the launch of a two-piece boom version of its latest crawler excavator. Extending the reach of the company’s third model in its range of compact-radius excavators, the HX130LCR is also available in a second standard configuration – the HX130LCRD, which includes a dozer blade.
The two-piece boom version enables the operator to work with a longer reach, while maintaining the possibilities of a reduced front swing.
Equipped with the boom articulation mounted to the underside of the standard boom, the machine has effective protection against soiling and damage.
Powered by a 73.6hp Perkins 854F Tier 4 Final/Stage IIIB-compliant diesel engine, power levels and fuel efficiency are high thanks to its diesel particulate filter, without the need for Selective Catalytic Reduction – so, AdBlue is not required.
Advanced hydraulics
The hydraulic system includes a Boom Float mode for better grading control; a Fine Swing mode for improved load control when swinging; and up to 13% faster cycle speeds than previous models.
The HX130 LCR also features IPC (Intelligent Power Control) computer-aided power optimization based on load demand, and Eco Breaker mode for selectable pump flow and improved fuel consumption when working with Hyundai hydraulic breakers and many other attachments. The combination of faster cycle times and more power result in productivity increases of up to 5%.
Having a standard operating weight of 12,700kg, the LCR model achieves a maximum dig depth of 5,570mm (18ft 4in) and maximum digging reach of 8,220mm (27ft), and provides bucket digging force of 10,369kgf.
Viewable on the monitor is the Hyundai-exclusive AAVM (All-Around View Monitoring), an optional system that provides a 360°-surround virtual operating view. Included in the AAVM is the IMOD (Intelligent Moving Object Detection) system that senses and warns the operator when objects come within 5m (16.5ft) of the machine.
A Hyundai spokesperson said, “The HX130 LCR machine is a combination of power, performance, convenience, serviceability and packed with safety features. And like all of Hyundai’s machines, the new HX130 LCR excavator comes packed with high-end features. For example, it includes as standard equipment an 8in (20.3cm) interactive, adjustable, touchscreen cluster-monitor in the cab.”
