TE Connectivity’s (TE) high-power AMP MCP 9.5 two position connectors are designed for harsh environment wire-to-wire and wire-to-circuit board connections.
AMP MCP 9.5 two-position connectors are designed to withstand the extreme conditions of the trucking, agricultural, mining, construction and marine industries. The connectors utilize TE’s field-proven AMP MCP contacts and have a current rating of 78A for 10mm² wire.
The AMP MCP 9.5 two-position connectors are constructed with heavy-duty thermoplastic and can withstand severe vibration and mechanical shock. They are IP 67 and IP 69K rated (with backshell), they protect connections from dust, dirt and moisture, and they have a -30 to 100°C (-22 to 212°F) operating temperature.
Several mounting options for the connectors are available, including in-line, flange, sealed flange and PCB mount, making them suitable for numerous application types. No tools are required for mounting, as the connectors feature a clip-in mounting feature. A slide lock can be used for easy connector mating.
The robust AMP MCP 9.5 two-position connectors feature an integrated secondary lock that confirms contact alignment and retention.
“These connectors are designed to avoid misorientation − there’s just one clear direction to insert the connector to achieve polarization,” said Philipp von Wedelstaedt, product manager for TE’s Industrial and Commercial Transportation business. “The more industrialized production lines become, the greater the need for quality assurance and repeatability − that was the thought process behind a lot of the design work that went into this connector. Failure is not an option in the field and we want to ensure it’s not an option in manufacturing either.”
For harsh environment applications that require a high-power, environmentally sealed two-position electrical connector, the AMP MCP 9.5 two-position connectors are a reliable solution.
