Liebherr will showcase its range of quarrying vehicles such as mining excavators, crawler tractors and wheel loaders at this year’s Steinexpo event, which takes place in Homberg/Nieder-Ofleiden, Germany, on Aug 30-Sept 2.
A 924 Litronic wheeled excavator will be one of the vehicles at the show. The machine meets the requirements of Stage IV/Tier 4f exhaust emissions, has engine power of 140kW, as well as an operating weight of between 21.5 tons and 26.5 tons, and the unit on display next month has a 2,750mm wide undercarriage with a dozer blade at the rear and a heavy counterweight for higher lift capacities. Equipment includes a 5.80m long adjustable boom and a 2.65m dipper arm fitted with a Liebherr SWA 48 quick coupler system.
A Liebherr spokesperson said, “XPower is an integrated, innovative machine concept for the large wheel loaders from Liebherr, which sets new standards in terms of fuel efficiency, robustness, and comfort.
“Liebherr invested in the stability of the new large wheel loaders in order to prepare them for the tough conditions in the mining industry. The power-split XPower travel drive stands for robustness as the power is delivered by the interaction of two drive paths. The load is distributed to two drive paths and the components have a significantly longer service life.”
The company will also present its R 980 SME crawler excavator designed for heavy-duty applications in quarrying and earthmoving. A reinforced undercarriage ensures the longer durability of a machine that is the largest crawler excavator developed and produced by Liebherr-France SAS in Colmar, France.
