Yvonne Pearman, standards project manager at the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), has been presented with a BSI special commendation award by Steve Brunige, head of industry and government engagement at BSI.
Brunige traveled to Chipping Norton in the UK to present the surprise award to Yvonne Pearman before the annual meeting of the BFPA’s Technical and Policy Standards (T&PSC) Committee which is chaired by Jerry Hughes.
“Yvonne has held the role of standards project manager for the BFPA since 2004, and despite coming to the BFPA without a technical background and without any prior experience of BSI activities she has mastered the role of standards projects manager and grasped the complexities of BS/ISO procedures for a large number of BFPA/BSI committees and panels covering a wide variety of subjects and a vast array of (mainly) ISO standards,” said Brunige in his presentation speech.
“The BFPA acts as an external secretariat for BSI on fluid power standards and is secretary to 21 technical committees/working groups with responsibility for over 500 standards.”
