iVT Expo 2024 is upon us. Spread over two days and with all the best in components, systems, materials and technologies from leading international suppliers, it has become a must-attend event for the industry.
Featuring over 150 exhibitors, plus 70 speakers at the free-to-attend conference, the event remains the only show dedicated solely to showcasing suppliers. With no full vehicles present, it is truly an event for OEM engineers and designers of industrial vehicles.
This year’s show, and its American cousin iVT Expo Off-Highway Vehicle Technology (Chicago, August 21-22), reflect ongoing shifts within the industry towards alternative fuelling and autonomy.

“With the increasing focus on sustainability and reducing emissions, expect a lot of presentations and product showcases on not just electrification, but also increasing fuel-efficiency and other alternate fuels like hydrogen,” says Apoorv Kumar, iVT Expo conference director. “As autonomy becomes more prevalent in the industrial vehicle segment, the conference and exhibition will feature advancements in autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles, including technology for navigation, obstacle detection, and control systems.”

Options for attendees
Although the event as a whole will take place at the Cologne Messe, iVT Expo is physically divided into exhibition and conference. This year’s conference streams have been refined from three to two, helping attendees focus on what’s important, and missing less in the process.
The two streams operating concurrently in Cologne will be Electrification & Alternatve Power Sources, and Autonomous, Cab Design and Evolving Digital Interface.
Electrification & Alternatve Power Sources: The push for sustainability and the need to reduce carbon emissions have driven companies to develop cleaner and more efficient power sources for off-highway vehicles. Hear from the pioneers and how they are overcoming challenges to adapt to challenging operating conditions and the advantages they bring with them.
Autonomous, Cab Design and Evolving Digital Interface: AI and automation are transforming the off-highway industry, enabling vehicles
to operate autonomously and make intelligent decisions to optimise performance and safety. This also brings to the fore advanced communication systems, data analytics, and real-time monitoring enabled remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and fleet management. Listen to industry experts on how the machines of the future will be operated.
“OEM focus, plenary session highlighting macro trends, application of Digital Twins, software defined industrial vehicles are just some of the new topics we will focus on at this year’s conference,” says Kumar. “OEMs like John Deere, Cargotec, Hyster-Yale, Liebherr, GIM Robotics and many more will throw light on what are the top trends they are tracking and how they envision balancing sustainability and efficiency for machines of the future.”
With such a comprehensive package of content for industry engineers, Kumar cannot wait for
the event to begin. Nor can iVT International. We will see you there.
