At this year’s Bauma Munich, Caldaro will showcase its innovative new C15 joystick, which is ergonomically designed to enable easy operation of large vehicles.
The Caldaro C15 joystick has been proven to make a huge difference to the working lives of operators of big drill rigs – machines that are so huge they can look almost like giant dragons, and yet, with Caldaro design, can be operated with just light movement of hands and fingertips.
“Using this new joystick means no heavy pulling on hydraulic levers, which saves your shoulders and back,” says machine operator Peter Öberg, from the comfort of his modern cab. “I have been operating these big drilling machines for 13 years. It has always been quite grueling operating the old hydraulic levers. However, now all I need is these joysticks,” he says, pointing at the C15 joysticks on each armrest of his seat.
With the help of a pedal on the floor, the joystick modes can be switched in order to move the drill rig into the right GPS coordinates for the next drilling hole.
“Using the joysticks together with the computer screen in front of me makes it easy to get into exactly the right position,” says Öberg.
Caldaro has always developed products with the operator at its focus. It is vital that the operator can comfortably operate a machine for a full day with minimum stress, to avoid musculoskeletal injuries.
