JCB Power Systems has today launched a brand new range of EU Stage V-compliant engines to power OEM equipment.
Designed for off-highway applications in both static and mobile industrial equipment and generators, these new engines are available in four power nodes spanning from 81kW (108hp) – 129kW (173hp) and boost peak torque outputs from 516Nm to 690Nm.
Building on the hugely successful transition to Stage V power in the <56kW range with the 430 engine, the new higher powered 448 models feature the same highly efficient performance with a simple, flexible aftertreatment solution and common customer connection points to enable easy integration with a wide range of OEM equipment designs.
The engine packages have been engineered to be as small as possible while featuring engine mounted aftertreatment – which comprises a diesel oxidation catalyst with a selective catalytic reduction urea injection system for NOx reduction as standard – to simplify engine integration. Exhaust aftertreatment can also be supplied loose for bespoke installations where height limitations call for an alternative to the engine-mounted arrangement.
JCB Power Systems manager, Daniel Jackson said: “Driven by legislation, the market for innovative and customer focused solutions is constantly evolving and with the introduction of these latest additions to the JCB Power Systems range, we and our customers will remain at the forefront of developments.
“Not only have we introduced a high performance, ultra-efficient and low emissions engine solution, but we have done so in a way that makes life much easier for our OEM customers. Making integration with their equipment as seamless as possible and providing full support before, during and after manufacture.”
Proven performance
The development of these Stage V 448 units will enable JCB Power Systems to continue to support new and existing customers in off highway applications across the Stage V-emissionised markets and then further territories as emissions legislation evolves.
The new Stage V range builds upon its predecessor, the robust and durable 448 JCB engine, proven in OEM installations across Europe, North American and the global market. Efficiency is the key focus and the new models deliver incredibly low fuel consumption, thus lowering CO2 and other exhaust emissions.
The versatility of these engines makes them suitable for a wide range of uses, from propulsion of off-highway equipment to the mechanical power behind a variety of stationary equipment. They are ideal for heavy duty environments due to the high power density of the engines, with its robust design withstanding the environmental factors that are seen in these applications – such as dust and vibration.
The perfect partner
JCB Power Systems aims to offer OEM customers the same operational and performance benefits experienced by JCB’s agriculture, construction and quarrying customers. In the design of its latest engines it has strived to minimise the engineering efforts to install and integrate its OEM solutions. Offered as ‘plug and play’ options, they all feature complete wiring solutions, mounted after treatment and induction systems and three connections between the engine and DEF tank module.
JCB Power Systems is part of family business, established for more than 75 years and with global brand recognition. Each unit is British engineered and manufactured, supported by a worldwide engine distribution network that specialises in engine sales and support, providing a further level of local support to OEMs and customers. JCB Power Systems can also offer an additional level of integration flexibility with the capability of additional components, engine assembly dress modifications and specialist installation design and testing – opening up powerful possibilities for its customers.
For those sectors demanding more complex installations, operational flexibility and robust engineered solutions, JCB Power Systems provides a truly personal service working closely with its customers to develop a valuable collaboration. This extends to a full powertrain solution, with ongoing support and goes beyond the typical component sales model. This offering is further bolstered by the JCB Drivetrain division and its range of axles and transmissions – completing a full OEM solution for mobile applications.
