Rolls-Royce with its MTU brand is to present power solutions for agricultural vehicles at Agritechnica in Hanover next month.
The range of distributed power generation sources such as solar cells, wind turbines and co-generation plants is growing constantly. This is happening in tandem with the dynamics of a digitalization process that has already rocked some industries to the core. The combination of these two phenomena has led to the emergence of small-scale power networks or ‘microgrids’ – available from MTU as a packaged solution, complete with battery and control system.
Rolls-Royce’s microgrids combine renewable energy sources with battery storage and aggregates. Agricultural businesses with photovoltaic systems or biogas plants have ideal conditions for installing a microgrid – as a business model or to make themselves independent of the public power grid.
Rolls-Royce will also showcase its EU Stage V certified MTU engines for agricultural and forestry vehicles. The 1000, 1100, 1300 and 1500 series, which are based on Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle engines, already received the new certification in March 2018.
Visit Rolls-Royce at booth C 29 in hall 16 from 10-16th November.
