Marubeni-Komatsu has announced the launch of its EU Stage IV-friendly backhoe loaders.
Initially, the WB93R model will be made available to market but a second machine will be introduced in a few months’ time.
Based on the current backhoe loader line-up, the improved machines now meet the Stage IV emission regulations, as well as provide increased efficiency and reduced fuel consumption but with no adverse effect on performance or productivity.
Engine power in the vehicles has increased, now reaching 75kW (100hp) gross, and a viscous engine fan clutch reduces noise and contributes to the reduced fuel requirements.
A high resolution 7in (17.7cm) LCD color monitor panel sits in the operator’s cab, while the engine shutdown function now has a secondary switch for increased safety.
“This new series represents a perfect match between performance and efficiency,” said Alex Visentin, product manager at Komatsu Europe. “Keeping the exceptional visibility and exclusive design for the work equipment of previous models, our new backhoe loaders deliver high productivity and give special attention to the operator’s needs.
“Versatility is key, and the new models offer benefits such as Komatsu’s Power Shift transmission and 4 Wheel Steering to customers. They also maintain Komatsu’s hallmark for unrivalled front visibility on backhoe loaders, thanks to a compact front bonnet and lateral position of the exhaust pipe.
“Their extended service intervals, updated KOMTRAX technology and new 7in multifunction monitor with fuel consumption indications will contribute to the optimization of total cost of ownership.”
