A new compact wheeled loader will be unveiled at Agritechnica by JCB, designed to suit all livestock farms, equestrian centres and nurseries.
The new JCB 403 Agri is a 0.3m3-rated articulated chassis loader capable of working efficiently in confined locations in and around buildings. It is powered by a compact four-cylinder Kubota engine generating 26.5kW (35.5hp) and 92Nm torque.
Other features include open or manual diff locks in heavy-duty axles to suit hard surface and soft ground operation, and a new joystick controller and armrest with one-hand shuttle with high/low operation.
High torque and fine speed control are the main characteristics of the ‘low’ transmission range, which are essential for digging into materials and for precision control and placement of loads, while eager acceleration to a top speed of 20km/h, or 30km/h as an option, is provided by the ‘high’ range for moving around yards and travelling from site to site.
Inching control operated by the brake pedal enables the operator to draw on the loader’s hydraulic power to breakout and lift materials without causing unnecessary wear to the braking system and transmission.
On the move, power and torque are channelled through robust ZF axles with open differentials or optional manually-operated diff locks front and rear for machines frequently used off hard surfaces.
