Doosan has announced it is increasing its presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The company’s heavy business will be transferred from the Doosan Bobcat arm to the Doosan Infracore side, with the transfer process effective from January 1, 2018.
In the past, the Doosan Bobcat EMEA business has integrated the sales/distribution business of the compact and heavy construction equipment under one umbrella in an effort to maximize synergies between the two sides of the company. Given that both the compact and heavy construction equipment industries are growing, the belief is that the market presence and market share can be expanded in the EMEA region by this decision.
It will enable Doosan Infracore to improve the core strengths of the heavy business by leveraging functional expertise and taking full responsibility for the product lifecycle from sales, product development and production.
“The main purpose of this change is to further strengthen our focus on core businesses under a globally integrated management team, for both Doosan Infracore and Doosan Bobcat,” said Alvaro Pacini, president, Doosan Bobcat EMEA.
“The Doosan Bobcat EMEA team will continue to give dedicated focus and expertise on Bobcat products and support for dealers and customers. This organizational change clearly demonstrates our commitment to the long-term success of our company as well as our valued partners. There are no changes or impact on the Bobcat, Geith or Doosan Portable Power businesses.”
