AVL is hosting its ninth International Commercial Powertrain Conference in Austria this year.
The event will take place in Graz (above) on May 10-11 and will include keynotes from DAF’s director of product development, Ron Borsboom; Liebherr’s managing director, Wolfgang Burget; and Wayne Eckerle, vice president of research and technology at Cummins.
The experts from the three powertrain industries will present their thoughts on what lies ahead in powertrain development and what can still be achieved with combustion engines and transmissions to reduce CO?.
An AVL spokesperson said, “Further CO? reduction potential can be found in a system approach including the specific application workload.
“Electrification seems to offer the ultimate solution, but poses also a challenge to engineers, considering the current development status of batteries and charging infrastructure.”
The conference will be a platform to discuss potential synergies between truck, agricultural and construction equipment OEMs and will address the challenges the industry faces now and in future, such as CO? reduction and sustainable means of transportation in view of the fast changing competitive environment.
After each session, a joint discussion will show the potential synergies and use of technologies in other powertrain applications. For more information and to register, click here.
