The Italian lifting, industrial and port handling and heavy transport show known as GIS opens today in Piacenza near Milan. The only Italian event in the space, GIS this year boasts 35,000 m² of exhibit space and more than 400 exhibitors.
The event is celebrating its 7th edition and 10th anniversary, confirming its leadership as the biggest event of its kind in Europe. Mobile cranes, tower cranes, aerial platforms, telehandlers and much more will be on display at PiacenzaExpo.
“The trust of a growing number of entrepreneurs and the support received by Italian and international associationsis consolidating GIS as a not-to-be-missed biennial event for all those companies that use machineries and equipment on display at the show,” says Fabio Potestà of MediaPoint, GIS organizer. “To confirm the growing interest of international operators towards GIS, for the first time ESTA, the leading European association for the abnormal road transport and mobile crane rental industry, will organize its two day Autumn Meeting inside the exhibition centre, granting the over 420 exhibitors a great opportunity to meet extremely important non Italian potential buyers.
For the first time the Italian Army will exhibit at the Piacenza Show, bringing the lifting and handling equipment they use, not only for their institutional activities but also civil protection ones at and after natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and collapsed bridges.
