The Burning Hen Festival, which took place on October 12th at the Hohenhaus Tenne Schladming in Austria, provided the official launchpad in its home country for Steyr’s new generation tractor range, the new Plus series.
Whether it is doing loader work, working with front or rear mounted implements, transport, or even in confined spaces, the Plus delivers maximum lift capacity of up to 5,000kg.
Power and efficiency have been prioritised with the addition of a 3.6l fpt industrial engine and a power output ranging from 80 to 117hp. This is accompanied by an 80l/min pump for increased responsiveness. The new Plus series also features an increased gross vehicle weight of 7,000 kg emphasise the multiform talent of this series.
In cab features include a new cab suspension for a smooth ride, new clear display of the machine’s parameters and settings, a hi-visibility roof panel, brake to clutch and variable ratio steering help to make long working days much more comfortable.
S-Guide Autoguidance ensures up to 1.5 cm pass-to-pass and year-over-year accuracy, allowing accurate application of production inputs. With S-Fleet Telematics, agronomic decisions can be taken on-the-go thus improving productivity and efficiency.
“As the first models in the Steyr range to receive new styling designed to set apart our tractors in a popular and competitive power sector, the Plus range already has four design awards to its name – the German Design Award, iF Design Award, Red Dot Design Award and the BIG SEE Product Design Award,” said Peter-Philipp Hampel, head of Steyr operations Europe. “With the Plus, we have returned a revered name to the Steyr line, replacing the Kompakt range with models that offer a 40kph 24F/24R transmission with two-speed powershift and electro-hydraulic powershuttle and standard S-Stop II, allowing one-foot drive disengagement and braking, plus more hydraulic power and mechanical cab suspension. These are the features demanded by the sort of forward-thinking people who attend Burning Hen Festival, so here was a great place to launch the Plus.”
