Hatz has appointed a trained agricultural engineer to director of services at the firm.
Joining from Korber Mediapark Systems AG, Stefan Dierkes is tasked with reorganizing the engine manufacturer’s support to OEMs and operators.
Under his previous employer, Dierkes was responsible for the entire service area of the machinery business unit and prior to that was executive vice president for service and solutions at Winkler + Dunnebier Neuwied.
A trained agricultural machinery mechanic and control engineer, he well understands the needs and concerns of Hatz’s customers and suppliers.
“Services are still classically technical in many parts of the engine and machine industry, but the world around us is changing,” said Dierkes.
“Today and in the future, manufacturers and operators of machines need services that go far beyond the classic support for engines.
“The digital revolution, Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things are just a couple of examples that demand completely new service concepts.
“Hatz will also strengthen its leading role here, as an industry-wide innovator.”
With its new E1 technology, Hatz is the first manufacturer to provide small engines for networked solutions. On this basis, Dierkes will continue to expand the company’s existing services, as well as adding digital services to them. These will include the expansion of Hatz small parts for digital documentation, connected services for the integration of machines in Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things, or an online shop for replacement and maintenance parts.
Dierkes added, “It’s important to us that our services are not just available to our business partners and machine operators in times of acute need.
“We want to provide active support for our customers across the entire lifecycle of a machine, so as to ensure and increase the added value of their investment.
“We are taking this path together with our customers. As part of the market, we understand and develop the precise services that the market demands, as well as its future needs.”
