Agritechnica organizers have announced a new award will be introduced at this year’s show to recognize Tier 1 innovations.
The Systems & Component Trophy – Engineers’ Choice award will be judged by senior development professionals from among the companies exhibiting at this year’s show, the DLG (German Agricultural Society) has confirmed.
OEMs are increasingly reliant on suppliers when designing new machines and updating of existing models.
The trophy is therefore intended to acknowledge the significant contribution that advanced systems from suppliers make to today’s farm machinery equipment.
Pleased to announce that the supply industry for agricultural machinery manufacturers would receive its own award at this year’s trade fair, Agritechnica project manager, Marie Servais, said, “The new trophy is aimed at exhibitors taking part in the Systems & Components exhibition area at Agritechnica 2019, and should attract the attention of development engineers and purchasing professionals working for agricultural machinery manufacturers.
“This is therefore a complement to the existing Agritechnica Innovation awards, which will continue to be open to entries from companies developing solutions that can be directly purchased by the farmers.”
The criteria used to assess award entries are the practical significance; the benefits in profitability and processes; the benefits to the environment and energy use; and the benefits for work load and safety.
Suppliers are asked to provide their entries before the closing date of 1 July, with a shortlist being drawn up prior to November’s Agritechnica 2019 and the winner of the trophy announced on 10 November in the Future Lounge at the show.
Agricultural machine exhibitors are being invited to nominate their chief development engineers to take part in the judging process.
