Hatz has announced that its new liquid-cooled engines and all of its air-cooled units have been certified for EU Stage V by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).
The B-, D-, G-, L- and M-series air-cooled engines with a power output of less than 19kW, as well as the engine manufacturer’s new H-series liquid-cooled units, have all been officially approved compliant with the European emissions directive that came in to force on January 1, 2019.
Developed especially for Stage V requirements, the three-cylinder 3H50TICD and four-cylinder 4H50TICD engines of the H-series provide between 19kW and 55kW of power.
Hatz Motorenfabrik marketing team leader Stephane Gritsch, said, “The H-series engines are a consistent new development based on the downsizing principle. Selected materials, combined with components such as turbochargers or the Bosch common rail system (off-highway version), come together to form one of the industry’s most modern powerhouses with low displacement.”
To meet the requirements of EU Stage V, the engines are also equipped with a separable – and therefore very maintenance-friendly – combination of diesel oxidation catalytic converter and diesel particulate filter (DOC/DPF).
The air-cooled engines, since 2013, had fulfilled the EPA Tier 4 final emission stage but now meet the Stage V regulations without any additional exhaust gas aftertreatment or technical modifications.
