Epiroc is launching a high-performance mining vehicle with increased haulage capacity and efficiency. The new Minetruck MT2200 shares the dimensions of its popular predecessor, the MT2010, but is capable of transporting heavier loads – up to 22 metric tons.
“The Minetruck MT2200 is based on our very successful Minetruck MT2010, so safety and reliability are built in from the beginning,” said Erik Gert, global product manager at Epiroc.
“Besides innovative safety essentials and a compact design that is ideal for manoeuvring through tight spaces, the new Minetruck MT2200 incorporates other winning characteristics from its forerunner, including easy access to service points and ergonomic seating and controls for optimal operator comfort.”
Battery-powered
The mining machine developer unveiled an electric, battery-powered model of its Minetruck MT2010 earlier this year.
A high-longevity battery keeps the Minetruck up and running during lengthy shifts and can be quickly replaced or charged.
The diesel-free powertrain eliminates harmful particulate and gas emissions and generates much less noise and waste heat. Personnel can thus enjoy a quieter, healthier work environment, while mining operations can greatly reduce the otherwise sky-high costs related to underground ventilation and cooling.
