Hyunda’s new wheeled loader is its most powerful and durable yet, while also being more fuel-efficient than the previous model.
The HL975 was unveiled to the public for the first time last week at the SaMoTer exhibition in Verona, Italy. Extensive questioning of operators across the world on their requirements and expectations played a significant role in the development project for the vehicle.
The result is a machine with an operating weight of 26,500kg, with a Stage IV Cummins QSG12 engine capable of providing 250kW of power at 2,100rpm. Higher efficiency air handling and advanced combustion enable the engine to return to the simplicity of a wastegate turbocharger without the need for a cooled exhaust gas recirculation system. Durability of frames and attachments has been enhanced by 1.5 times the level of the outgoing 9-series model.
A Hyundai spokesperson said, “The true value of the HL975 machine is its power this is evident in tough working environments. With the high-strength design structure and enduring system proven by rigorous tests at various work sites, Hyundai’s wheel loaders can perform any high-load work to maximize productivity.”
In addition, fuel-efficiency in the new HL Series (including the 955, 960 and 980) has also improved, with automatic shutdown of the engine when idle preventing unnecessary fuel consumption and emissions. An optional 5-speed transmission with lock-up clutch adds to the machine’s efficiency.
An eco gauge frequently checks the vehicle’s operating state to ensure consistent economic operations, changing color based on engine torque and fuel efficiency level. A travel speed limit control also allows the operator to enforce a maximum traveling speed between 20km/h and 40km/h depending on the working conditions faced.
The newly designed cabin is 10% larger than the previous-generation model, with a fully adjustable seat and an updated air-conditioning system to maximize operator comfort, while an electrohydraulic integrated control level increases operator productivity.
