Danfoss has introduced a new addition to its pump portfolio for off-highway applications that includes a more efficient fan drive control feature. The new K2 is a smaller, flexible frame axial piston pump in the company’s Series 45 range.
With a 25-45cc frame, the length of the pump has been reduced by 20% in comparison with other models in the range and is also 30% lighter, but has increased rated pressure, higher rated speed and temperature capabilities to maintain performance.
Danfoss Power Solutions director of medium power open circuit sales Jeff Brenner said, “As we designed the K2 axial piston pump, we focused on creating an optimized package and improving performance to meet the needs of our customers.
“With the K2, we’re able to deliver the best combination of package size and weight on the market, offering our customers additional flexibility in their design and manufacturing.”
Having a modular design, the new pump can be easily integrated into machine systems and offers a wide-range of displacements, controls and configurations for multiple off-highway applications including the agriculture, construction, road-building, material handling, forestry and turf-care industries.
Along with the quieter pump design that reduces noise and vibration levels, the K2 also has a fan drive control feature that intelligently oversees thermal management of the pump. The end result is maximized cooling efficiency, decreased fuel costs, and increased operator productivity.
Brenner added, “The lower minimum system pressures allowed by the fan drive control result in slower minimum fan speeds, which improves fan drive system efficiency. It also offers a variety of benefits for low cooling requirement conditions, including reduced fan noise.”
