Case Construction Equipment has added a minimum-swing radius excavator to its D Series line-up. The new CX245D SR features a compact counterweight and modified boom placement, providing increased digging and lifting power, and is capable of maneuvering well in confined working environments.
With an operating weight of 26 tonnes and a 119 kW Tier 4 Final/Stage IV engine, the excavator offers greater performance capabilities than the previous model.
A combination of selective catalytic reduction and diesel oxidation catalyst technologies helps maximize uptime and performance all with minimal maintenance. With no diesel particulate filter (DPF) or DPF regeneration, the system’s economical use of AdBlue (2.5-3% of fuel consumption) is that more impressive as the tank only needs to be refilled every five fuel refills.
A new electronically-controlled pump, a larger control valve and multiple sensors achieve faster cycle times, and combined with the intelligent hydraulic system with five different controls the machine’s hydraulic power is maximized, while minimizing fuel losses.
In the iso-mounted cab there is a Bluetooth radio to provide hands-free functionality for the operator, while a 7in widescreen monitor offers real-time access to machine performance parameters such as fuel consumption. Visibility is aided by rear and side view cameras as standard.
Optional LED working lights provide lighting three-times brighter than halogen products allowing operators to work productively in darkness.
