John Deere’s record-breaking tractor is to make its first appearance at Cereals this year.
The 8400R tractor recently set three new world records for fuel efficiency (field and transport) and maximum drawbar performance at the DLG test station in Germany and will have a stand at the 2017 Lincolnshire, England, event.
The 8400R beat its nearest competitors by 22% in drawbar performance and lowered the combined fluid consumption figure for field work to 247g/kWh.
A John Deere spokeswoman, said, “This translates into 6% higher pulling capacity and a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 2% compared with the previous top-of -the-range 8370R model, enabling wider implements to be used to increase productivity and maximize total fluid efficiency.”
The tractor is powered by an in-house 9-liter Stage IV-compliant engine that provides 400hp and features an e23 transmission with efficiency manager.
Also on display at Cereals 2017 will be the 8400R tractor that delivers 450hp and is fitted with JDLink telematics, including remote display access and wireless data transfer linked to the company’s website portal.
The 750A All-Till seed drill, available in 3m, 4m and 6m versions, will also be on stand. The versatile drill has a field-proven Accord air seeding system, and is designed with large clearances for no-till drilling into stubble, working after minimum or conventional cultivations, and single-pass operation for grassland and rough pasture renovation.
