PTx Trimble, formed as a joint venture in 2024 by AGCO and Trimble, announced its newest GNSS receiver for precision autoguidance – the Nav-960 guidance controller – at the Agrishow in São Paulo, Brazil.
The PTx Trimble Nav-960 offers farmers an upgrade to its predecessor, the Nav-900, with a host of improvements, including enhanced speed, higher processing power and improved positioning performance.
The company says that using this receiver, farmers can handle the most complex and demanding applications for guidance and steering, creating improved uptime and the flexibility to seamlessly run field operations. Utilizing the Nav-960 as part of a complete autosteering solution allows operators to focus on the fieldwork as it happens and allows growers to get work done faster, reducing wear and tear on equipment.
“As the precision ag industry evolves, we are focused on innovative solutions that make it easier for farmers to tackle the critical challenges they face in the field, and to do so in a way that creates added value,” says Andrew Sunderman, VP of product and customer experience. “With the new NAV-960 guidance controller, farmers have access to some of the most advanced technical capabilities for GNSS positioning in the market, which ultimately helps to get the job done in less time and with more profitability.”
The PTx Trimble Nav-960 was designed as a successor and upgrade to the flagship Nav-900 and offers both internal and external enhancements to improve positioning and accuracy for a variety of tasks across any size farming operation.

With its new cast aluminum base and sleek design, the Nav-960 is built to withstand the toughest farming environments including searing heat, freezing cold, driving rain, persistent dust and everything in between. The additional processing power of the upgraded CPU ensures compatibility and readiness for fieldwork today and in the future.
The new generation receiver includes several advanced features. It features a patented industrial design with a rugged base that is resistant to dust, water, and vibration. The enhanced GNSS engine tracks more satellites than previous models and works with enhanced inertial sensors to provide up to 50% improved vehicle positioning and line following performance compared to the Nav-900.
The receiver incorporates onboard Trimble ProPoint technology with Trimble IonoGuard, which maximises resistance to downtime caused by solar events and scintillation. When used in combination with Trimble CenterPoint RTX or RTK correction signals, it delivers centimetre-level accuracy. Its advanced quad core processor provides extra power, faster calculations and improved data delivery speeds.
The Nav-960 maintains complete compatibility with current PTx Trimble steering systems and utilizes the same cables as the Nav-900 guidance controller. Additionally, onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities make the Nav-960 easier for service teams to support and prepare it for future enhancements across the PTx Trimble solution portfolio.
