Sears Seating, a leading manufacturer suspension seating for the agricultural, construction, industrial and over-the-road truck industries, will be recognized for their innovative product-engineering of the Nexus seat top platform and TLS seat suspension system.
Each year, the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) recognizes 50 of the most innovative product-engineering designs in the agriculture industry, with its AE50 Awards, as chosen by international engineering experts.
“Sears Seating is honored to be recognized for our contributions to the health and comfort of work vehicle operators,” said Kent Wichelt, president of Sears Seating. “We have embraced the rapid advancements of the agriculture industry, and Sears is proud to be on the cutting edge. Sears’ Nexus seat and TLS suspension system are highly scalable products designed to meet the equipment and operator needs of today and evolve to provide solutions for tomorrow.”
Sears Seating will be presented their AE50 Award at the ASABE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, Tuesday, February 11th.
The Nexus seat top is comprised of a highly scalable upper seat structure specifically configured to offer maximum seat comfort with minimal overall seat width. This innovative platform includes a seat structure that allows for multiple seat cushion widths and backrest heights. The NEXUS also integrates the operator restraint system into the structure of the seat allowing for optimal operator safety features even in compact cab applications.
Below the seat top, the modular adjuster/isolator Spatial Positioning System (SPS) allows for a variety of option levels and easy access suspension controls that follow the movement of the seat top. The advanced TLS air suspension utilizes swing toggle scissors that replaces the typical roller/track in the lower suspensions structure for improved performance, stability and durability. Additionally, TLS suspension is designed to integrate advanced ride control options and internal mounting of an air reservoir for LSR/LNF (Low Spring Rate/Low Natural Frequency) applications. As the suspension was designed to reduce whole body vibration, it contributes greatly to the comfort and health of the operator.
