Will Trump's wall be advantageous for the US construction vehicle market?

Monthly Quiz

This week (ends January 27) Donald Trump signed an executive order to build his much discussed wall along the US/Mexico border. The 1,900-mile wall could cost anywhere from US$12bn (Trump administration estimate) to US$25bn (Washington Post) and will be one of the largest construction projects in the nation. But what do you think?

Will Trump's wall be advantageous for the US construction vehicle market?

Yes - New vehicles will have to be made and sold to meet demand, and it will mark the dawn of a new golden era of American construction
No - Any short-term boost to the industry in building the wall will be undone by long-term disadvantages, such as disruption to supply chains caused by related higher taxation
