Bobcat loaders recognised for low cost of ownership

Bobcat loaders were successful in several categories at the 2017-2018 Lowest Cost of Ownership Awards.

Bobcat’s S70 skid-steer loader won the skid steer loaders category, while its MT55 mini-track loader came out on top of the loaders compact track category.

The S70 is the smallest model in the Bobcat skid-steer loader range, with a width of 901mm, height of 1814mm, overall length with standard bucket of 2,472mm and operating weight of only 1,268kg. The rated operating capacity of the S70 is 343kg (ISO 14397-1).

A Bobcat spokesman, said, “With its small dimensions, the S70 model can access sites with narrow openings such as gates, alleys or aisles. It is ideal for work in tight areas where larger machines cannot maneuver effectively, offering a versatile and compact solution for rental fleets, demolition, construction, landscaping, farming and general material-handling applications.

“The S70 is driven by the 17.5kW Kubota D1005-E4B-BC-3 diesel engine. The power output
from the engine, together with the 1,268kg operating weight, results in a higher power to weight ratio than other machines on the market. With a hydraulic flow of 37 l/min, the S70 offers excellent versatility through its ability to work with an extensive range of Bobcat attachments.”

The MT55 has an overall width with bucket of 903mm, length with bucket of 2,365mm and height of 1,246 mm, making it ideal for digging, loading and clean-up applications (both indoor and out), particularly on construction, demolition and landscaping sites.

Powered by a 17.5kW Kubota D902-E3B diesel engine, the MT55 has a rated operating
capacity (ISO 5998) of 254kg and a tipping load of 732kg. With the arms in the fully raised
position, it has a height-to-hinge pin of 1,807mm and a dump height of 1,265mm.

The spokesman said, “Thanks to more than 20 attachments, its compact size, low ground pressure, and outstanding maneuverability, the MT55 is ideal for the equipment rental industry as well as landscape contractors, eliminating much of the hand labor normally found in earthmoving and fencing applications.”

Organized by Equipment Watch, the Lowest Cost of Ownership Awards is unique in the industry, and looks at five-year total cost of ownership across 15 categories of machines.
