Doosan Bobcat adds new ADT features

Doosan Bobcat has announced the release of an array of features for its articulated dump truck (ADT) range. The assorted collection of standard and optional functions helps enhance safety, performance and operator comfort and reduce emissions.

A new angle limitation system prevents the truck body from tipping over when it is being loaded with materials. It is standard on all the company’s ADTs manufactured after January 1, 2017, and available as a software update for all
-5 machines prior to that date on request.

A Doosan Bobcat spokesperson said, “Based on a study of the customer’s application, Doosan can provide recommended limits for the company’s trucks, but it is up to the owner to decide which limits they want to use. If the slope is over the limit, the angle limitation system ensures the body does not move. The function therefore offers increased safety and efficiency as the operator always knows the machine will be in a stable position.”

Another standard feature is engine auto shutdown that can be switched on and off by the operator on the display and, if on, will automatically shut the engine down if no activity is detected in the machine.

“ADTs can spend between 30% and 60% of their time standing with the engine idling while they are waiting to be loaded and in some conditions, the waiting time can exceed 60%, with consequent losses in terms of fuel, warranty and service costs,” said the spokesperson.

All new ADTs are now also equipped with an electronic transmission oil level sensor, instead of a dipstick, making oil checks simpler and more reliable. Electrically-adjustable heated mirrors, a white noise reverse alarm and an electrical refuelling pump are among a number of optional new features on the vehicles.
